Just as Social Security hasn't increased with the cost of living (especially food), minimum wage hasn't either.And then of course there are the things that you didn't have to pay for years ago like watching TV ($50-$100 a month cable bill), having a savings and checking account ($10-$20 a month), and drinkable water (seeing the stains left in my shower and toilet, I wouldn't drink the tap water!) Things have changed and cost us much more than we ever planned, however, minimum wage and social security have not kept pace one bit.I agree with you, Veralynne!
